This time I changed the spot and set up my equipment at a place where a stream flows into the pond. Because of the stream I expected an increased oxygen content in the water and therefore more activity of the fish. After observing the new place, I noticed a place with an overhanging shrub. This spot seemed to be ideal and I put my rods directly under it. I waited several hours and changed my baits. After trying almost every hookbait of my range I tried the cultured boilie (NASH Scopex Squid Cultured 20mm) which worked in my first session. It was already afternoon, I was no longer convinced that I could catch a fish and my baits had been in the water for a long time. But then the signal of my bite indicator sounded and I was quite surprised when I saw the carp in my unhooking mat. Should it be my biggest carp so far? I quickly unpacked my scale to weigh the fish. I was amazed when I saw that the scaled carp had a weight of 40.56 lbs and a length of 96 cm. I quickly put aside my anger that I only had caught one fish and was very happy to have achieved my new personal best.
